High School Student Pilot Program

Service Description

$499 complete program. One 90-minute lesson and one 5-day private pilot weekend ground school to prep for the FAA Written Exam. Sporty's Pilot Shop or My Pilot Shop, ASA Private Pilot Kit ($159) must be purchased in advance, online. The kit includes all the flying books, logbooks, mapping tools, and technical publications required to pass the FAA written, oral, and flight exams. The written exam is valid for 24 months. The minimum age is 15 to sit for the written exam, 16 years for solo, and 17 years to apply for the private pilot license. Exam is $175 at a FAA testing site paid to FAA.
